Fortius Healthcare is building the first of its own kind “world class” hospital in Maroochydore in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. A place for health and research innovation centred around designing better care.
Fortius is building the first of its own kind “world class” hospital in Maroochydore in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. The site will be a health and research hub anchored by the Sunshine Coast University and Medacta, an international orthopaedics company specialising in design and production of innovative orthopaedics products and accompanying surgical techniques. Other co-tenants in the building include radiology, pathology, allied health services and medical specialists who will use the theatres.
The hospital will contain a range of surgical specialties along with ancillary healthcare services to treat the people of the Sunshine Coast with a comprehensive pain management, sports medicine and allied health offering.
Maroochy Private Hospital will be committed to educating the next generation of surgeons & health professionals with the most advanced techniques and evidence based short stay surgical model, ensuring optimised recovery outcomes.
The hospital has: 6 fully integrated large orthopaedic theatres and ward accommodation for 45 in-patients. The design and DA approvals are both completed. Construction is expected to start in the second quarter of 2022, with the hospital due to open in mid-2023
